THE ALL-POWERFUL GOD
OMNIPOTENT (All-Powerful): The Son is All-Powerful
The Son’s quality and characteristic is one of power and authority. Matthew 28:18 states, “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” The Son is Omnipotent. We read the same in Daniel 7:13–14 “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.”
Does that mean that the Father and the Holy Spirit are not omnipotent? It is not like that. For more clarity now let us get back to our principle of ‘One account.’ (Everything that one has is owned by each and everyone (through one account) in Godhead.) Therefore, the Father too is omnipotent and so is the Holy Spirit. But how is it possible? As they are one Godhead, i.e one being. As we saw in the example of a joint account. This is explained in John 13:3, “Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power,…”. Now, the question here is if everything is in the Son’s hand (i.e. Son is omnipotent) then can we say the hands of the Father and the Holy Spirit are empty? If their hands are empty how can they be God? We can understand the oneness of the Triune God through the principle of one account.
