   The third role of the Holy Spirit is to give us the Spirit of wisdom. To understand the above-mentioned role, let us read the relevant scriptures pertaining to this role of the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 1:17 “…give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation…” 1 Corinthians 1:24 “…Christ…and the wisdom of God.” Ephesians 6:17“…the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” What is wisdom? Wisdom is nothing but applying the written word into our day-to-day lives so that the living Word (Jesus) will manifest in our lives. In other words, the character of Jesus is to be seen in our lives. The Bible tells us that everything in this world is created by the wisdom of God. When we look at Genesis, Chapter One, it is clearly understood that everything is created by the spoken word of God. So, what is wisdom in this context? It is the spoken word of God.   TO RECOGNISE THE INDWELLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT T he first role of the Holy Spirit is to testify, glorify and reveal Jesus Let us read some of the scriptures to understand this role of the Holy Spirit. John 15:26 “…he (Holy Spirit) will testify about me (Jesus).” John 16:14 “He (Holy Spirit) will bring glory to me (Jesus)…” Ephesians 1:17 “…may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation (i.e., about Jesus)…” Ephesians 3:4–5 “In reading this, th e n, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to men in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets.” The most important role of the Holy Spirit is to testify and glorify Jesus. Acts 2:4 says “All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit…” In  Acts 2:14, “Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd:…”  and  Acts 2:36, “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus...

  The Holy Spirit has a will of His own and is on the earth to take the crucial decisions for the churches. All the gifts available for the believers are not given at random but as the Spirit wills, as mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12:11. Those working for the churches are subjected under the will of the Holy Spirit as in Acts 20:28 Paul conveyed to the elders of the church at Ephesians: “…the Holy Spirit has made you overseers…” As mentioned in Acts 15:28, at a decision-making meeting, the apostle, elders, and the Holy Spirit were present when they took a decision through the will of the Holy Spirit, and then they wrote a letter saying, “It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us…” So we conclude that Holy Spirit has a will too. HOLY SPIRIT HAS EMOTIONS The Holy Spirit is not some unemotional entity, incapable of compassion or mercy. He is a person with feelings and a heart.   Now you may be wondering what do we mean by these heavenly calling? It means he comes to live inside us to make us a heavenly being and we become the house of the living God. It is the most amazing thing that happens to a born again believer. 1 Peter 1:23 says “For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.” The Greek word for ‘seed’ is ‘sperma’ and ‘word’ is ‘logos’.   The Bible says to be carnal minded is to be in enmity with God. To be carnal minded is the lowest level of living. In other words, in a carnally minded person, flesh is the boss of his being and the flesh works in tandem with the soul i.e. mind takes over the spirit. When the flesh shows the symptoms of pain, which might be unbearable, it leads the mind to receive signals of pain and fear from the flesh. Eventually, the flesh and mind become one unit and take over the spirit of that man which becomes weaker and weaker. Hence the person walking in the dictates of flesh becomes a carnally minded person and brings upon himself death. On the other hand, a spiritually-minded person walks in the light of the spirit, overtaking the flesh and the mind. Greeting, Let's meditate on this word Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. (Colossians 3:23-24) The word ' with ' in Greek is * ek * means with or from which means the source. So whatever person does it should have the source connection i.e. heart. Many people do a lot of things but they do not prosper because their heart is not into it. Often, they are doing for the sake of doing it, so they do not prosper because when a person's heart is not connected, they are doing it for somebody & not for God. So, I encourage you today to ask yourself this question Is my heart there in my Job on whatever I am doing?
