  There are many reasons for it, but the most important reason we get is when we meditate Hebrews 12:9. Let us note the word ‘disciplined’ in the above verse. In Greek, the meaning for the original word is- a) to instruct, b) the one who corrects. So the Holy Spirit enters our spirit man to instruct u s  and to correct us . Then what is our role? Our role is to revere Him and hold Him at high esteem, to walk all the days of our lives with Him, i.e., to listen to His instructions and take His corrections, which will eventually make us ‘one spirit with Him, as 1 Corinthians 6:17 says, “But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with Him in spirit.” The original word of ‘one spirit’ is ‘be united’; it is an ongoing process which continues till we are alive on this earth.   TO RECOGNISE THE INDWELLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT T he first role of the Holy Spirit is to testify, glorify and reveal Jesus Let us read some of the scriptures to understand this role of the Holy Spirit. John 15:26 “…he (Holy Spirit) will testify about me (Jesus).” John 16:14 “He (Holy Spirit) will bring glory to me (Jesus)…” Ephesians 1:17 “…may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation (i.e., about Jesus)…” Ephesians 3:4–5 “In reading this, th e n, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to men in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets.” The most important role of the Holy Spirit is to testify and glorify Jesus. Acts 2:4 says “All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit…” In  Acts 2:14, “Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd:…”  and  Acts 2:36, “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus...

Do you know that when Jesus Christ died, the veil on the temple was torn in two parts from top to bottom (Mark 15:38)?  The word ‘temple’ in original language is ‘Naos’ – often denotes only the innermost sacred part of the building. So, what did God want to say from the above-mentioned verse? The answer is, in the Old Testament, God’s presence was behind the veil in the innermost sacred part of the temple and in the New Testament, that presence has come out of that place and God speaks to His people by residing in their hearts. In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit who is the third person of the Trinity, would come upon a person only for a specific time and a specific purpose and after that particular purpose was achieved and the time was over the Holy Spirit had to leave. But in the New Testament, due to the veil of the temple being torn, every believer now can be filled with the Holy Spirit.                        ...

  Even long before the creation fell into sin and fell short of the glory of God — the Triune God had a plan to shape and make our lives in Christ. The Bible says in 1 Peter1:19–20 “but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.” Here we can understand one thing about our God, that He has a solution even before a problem appears. On the contrary, human being looks for the solution after being into the problem. Keeping this in mind let us study the word Jeremiah 18:1–4 “This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD: “Go down to the potter’s house, and there I will give you my message.” So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.” Here, the potter is God the Father who is working at t...

  The Triune God is expressed in the image of oneness and so we ought to have unity in the church. As the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are one in unity, we can have unity in our relationships, and because of the way the Father relates to his Son in unity, we can also relate to one another in the same way. A person who divides churches or family had not understood the oneness of the Triune God. The unity is the foundation of the Triune God because the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are united and the same can be achieved in the body of Christ. Testimony: Sometime back I was supposed to preach in a church where the spirit of the division was at work. I received specific instructions from God to preach on the unity of the church. By the grace of God bestowed upon me to deliver the sermon on the subject, as a result, the church finally got united and blessed and filled with the glory of God.
