Why temple veil torn..?

Do you know that when Jesus Christ died, the veil on the temple was torn in two parts from top to bottom (Mark 15:38)?

The word ‘temple’ in original language is ‘Naos’ – often denotes only the innermost sacred part of the building. So, what did God want to say from the above-mentioned verse? The answer is, in the Old Testament, God’s presence was behind the veil in the innermost sacred part of the temple and in the New Testament, that presence has come out of that place and God speaks to His people by residing in their hearts. In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit who is the third person of the Trinity, would come upon a person only for a specific time and a specific purpose and after that particular purpose was achieved and the time was over the Holy Spirit had to leave. But in the New Testament, due to the veil of the temple being torn, every believer now can be filled with the Holy Spirit.

The second word of utmost importance in the above-mentioned verse is ‘lives’. The original word for ‘lives’ in the Greek language is ‘Oikos’ – which means, ‘member of a household belonging to the family but not necessarily being born in the family’. So, from the above verse we can conclude that the Holy Spirit is our family member and it is important that we know Him deeply.

Keeping this in mind let us read Hebrews 12:9, “Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live!” If we read the above verse attentively it will be clear to us that the Holy Spirit is the Father of all human spirits. Why? Because the word ‘father’ in the original language is ‘Pater’- meaning; ‘one who resembles another in disposition and action (is similar).’ So our inner man is exactly like the Holy Spirit. This word also means a creator or one who embarks – meaning our true human self is the spirit that is carved out of the Holy Spirit.

My Testimony - Apostle Winston Joseph, Ph. D

Healed from Asthama Many years ago, I had asthma. It was a hereditary disease in my family and I witnessed one of my aunts who died because of it in a very dreadful situation. She was hanged upside down to ease her predicament. I had the same disease and there was a time in my life when I could not sit nor stand because of the illness. I could not breathe properly and sometimes I used to have excruciating pain at my back due to the that illness. Also, I had severe dust allergy, even if a little dust went into my nostrils, I would sneeze for a long time. But when I came to know that the Word is the truth and that the fact can be changed through the truth , I started to take hold of the Word and declare and decree it for days and days. Devil used to show me the fact that this disease is incurable. But I kept on declaring the truth i.e. the Word until I was totally healed and delivered from that disease. Now I know that I am born of the Spirit, walking in glory in divine health whi...

CELEBRATION OF SALVATION

The Monthly Devotional E-magazine for December titled  "CELEBRATION OF  SALVATION"  by their Excellency, Apostle Winston Joseph and Sister Parveen Winston  is now available for all Partners of AWJM.  Many a man has been looking for salvation. They assume that they would receive salvation through some knowledgeable person or through some religious performance that is like saying that their act would take them through. Of course, we honour them those knowledgeable and wise men who have done well for the country today and are gone There are some exemplary in whose  honour we have  names of roads, flyovers, towns, railway stations, airports, colleges, universities etc. However, redemption is impossible through knowledgeable or wise men or through religious performance because to redeem men is not in the hands of men. In reality, it is only the Bible that says, ‘Every human must attain salvation’ but the question remains how? Salvation is the Preciou...
