Even long before the creation fell into sin and fell short of the glory of God — the Triune God had a plan to shape and make our lives in Christ. The Bible says in 1 Peter1:19–20 “but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.”
Here we can understand one thing about our God, that He has a solution even before a problem appears. On the contrary, human being looks for the solution after being into the problem.
Keeping this in mind let us study the word Jeremiah 18:1–4
“This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD: “Go down to the potter’s house, and there I will give you my message.” So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.”
Here, the potter is God the Father who is working at the wheel, which represents His work for mankind. The Bible goes on to say that the pot He was shaping from the clay was marred in His hands. Now the question arises, whom does the pot represent that was marred in His hands? The pot from the marred clay represents none other than our Lord Jesus Christ who was marred in His hands, so that the mankind i.e. the pot, can be recreated out of Him.
