The success, of the Covenant

We need to understand that Adam’s blessing was in being obedient to God’s command of not eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Adam’s life was hidden in the tree of life, but our blessing is not hidden in the tree of life. Our blessing is hidden in Christ and walking in the fullness of Christ.

Here we must know that the Old Covenant failed because it was a covenant between God and man. In other words, both the parties had to work and be faithful to the covenant. For the success of the covenant, God had to play the part and He kept His covenant and was faithful to it. But the problem was with men, who could not work out their holiness and consequently failed to keep the covenant.

However, under the New Covenant, it is possible to keep and maintain holiness, because, now God the Father did not make the covenant with a man but with His Own Son, who represented mankind. So, this covenant became successful because in this covenant both the parts were played by God Himself, following which mankind received the blessings.

Let us read 1 Corinthians 1:30, “It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God — that is, our righteousness, holiness, and redemption.”

Now let’s understand and appreciate the wisdom of God. The first man Adam fell down in sin and entire mankind fell short of the glory of God and was plunged into the ocean of sin because of his disobedience. But here, the Triune God chose Christ as our representative, who obeyed God fully. So, the Bible says Christ has become our righteousness, holiness, and redemption. Now it’s important for us to know from the depth of our heart that Adam and entire mankind were blessed because of their obedience or cursed because of their disobedience! But we are not blessed because of our obedience but rather we are blessed due to the obedience of Christ. Our first representative i.e., the first man Adam plunged us into the ocean of sin that is bad news; but the good news is that the last Adam i.e., Christ plunged us into the ocean of righteousness and blessings.

Romans 5:19 says, “For just as through the disobedience of one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of one man the many will be made righteous.”

If we look at the verse carefully, we get to know we were plunged in the ocean of sin, not because of our sin but by the sin of our first representative, the first Adam, and exactly in the same way we are made righteous and holy not because of our works but because of the obedience of Christ. We are not sinners because we commit sin, but we commit sin because we are sinners.

From the above statement, it is very clear for us and we ought to understand that we have no part to play in our becoming sinners. We were immersed into it by our first representative i.e., Adam. In the same way, we have no part to play in our becoming holy — we are plunged into it by the last Adam — ‘Christ’.

In other words, first Adam plunged us into curse and death, the last Adam-Christ plunged us into blessings and life. The problem with the believers is we have not understood holiness. Every time we hear about ‘holiness’, we assume God, who is seated on the throne, judging us with a sword in His hand to cut us into pieces even at our slightest mistake.

But nobody has taught us that ‘the throne’ is ‘The Throne of Grace’ who Sympathizes in our Weaknesses as in Hebrews 4:16.

Why temple veil torn..?

Do you know that when Jesus Christ died, the veil on the temple was torn in two parts from top to bottom (Mark 15:38)?  The word ‘temple’ in original language is ‘Naos’ – often denotes only the innermost sacred part of the building. So, what did God want to say from the above-mentioned verse? The answer is, in the Old Testament, God’s presence was behind the veil in the innermost sacred part of the temple and in the New Testament, that presence has come out of that place and God speaks to His people by residing in their hearts. In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit who is the third person of the Trinity, would come upon a person only for a specific time and a specific purpose and after that particular purpose was achieved and the time was over the Holy Spirit had to leave. But in the New Testament, due to the veil of the temple being torn, every believer now can be filled with the Holy Spirit.                        ...

BLESSING IN GIVING

The most important thing we learn from the living Triune God is everyone who has a relationship with the living God cannot stop himself from giving. The Scripture in John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” So, if we have a relationship with the living Triune God then it would be normal for us to give. 2 Corinthians 9:7 informs us that God loves a cheerful giver. It is mandatory that tithe, offering, and whatever God puts in our heart we must offer to Him cheerfully. For whatever we are and we have received is given to us by God. God has taught me this principle in the beginning of the ministry and it is no wonder that God blessed me and made me a blessing for others. I can tell you with my own experience along with the authority of the Word of God and with assurance I can say that those who sow cheerfully would never lack. Luke 6:38 clearly mentions: “Give, and it will be...
