What is Holiness?

The root word for ‘holiness’ comes from the Greek word ‘Hagios’, which has three meanings:

a) Separated from the ordinary

b) Separated from the common usage

c) Something holy is that which has been brought into relationship with God and designated by Him as having a sacred purpose.

We must be clear that simply by living a holy life we do not become holy. If it would have been possible then the death of Christ would have been useless. Our holiness is in Christ, which is the wisdom of God i.e., Christ has become holiness, righteousness, and redemption for us as scripted in 1 Corinthians 1:30. We must keep our eyes on Christ forever. The devil wants us to focus on ourselves and to view ourselves as to how unrighteous and unholy we are, but God’s plan for us is to continually look at and keep our focus on Christ.

The Bible says in Hebrews 3:1, “Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess.”

From the above-given verse, we learn that the living Word of God declares us holy. The Bible never says become holy like I am holy, as in 1 Peter 1:15, 16; Why? Because through Christ we are holy and since through Christ we have reached that place, God desires and commands us that we stay in that place.

Why temple veil torn..?

Do you know that when Jesus Christ died, the veil on the temple was torn in two parts from top to bottom (Mark 15:38)?  The word ‘temple’ in original language is ‘Naos’ – often denotes only the innermost sacred part of the building. So, what did God want to say from the above-mentioned verse? The answer is, in the Old Testament, God’s presence was behind the veil in the innermost sacred part of the temple and in the New Testament, that presence has come out of that place and God speaks to His people by residing in their hearts. In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit who is the third person of the Trinity, would come upon a person only for a specific time and a specific purpose and after that particular purpose was achieved and the time was over the Holy Spirit had to leave. But in the New Testament, due to the veil of the temple being torn, every believer now can be filled with the Holy Spirit.                        ...

My Testimony - Apostle Winston Joseph, Ph. D

Healed from Asthama Many years ago, I had asthma. It was a hereditary disease in my family and I witnessed one of my aunts who died because of it in a very dreadful situation. She was hanged upside down to ease her predicament. I had the same disease and there was a time in my life when I could not sit nor stand because of the illness. I could not breathe properly and sometimes I used to have excruciating pain at my back due to the that illness. Also, I had severe dust allergy, even if a little dust went into my nostrils, I would sneeze for a long time. But when I came to know that the Word is the truth and that the fact can be changed through the truth , I started to take hold of the Word and declare and decree it for days and days. Devil used to show me the fact that this disease is incurable. But I kept on declaring the truth i.e. the Word until I was totally healed and delivered from that disease. Now I know that I am born of the Spirit, walking in glory in divine health whi...
