Devil's attack on Glory

What was the first attack of the devil on humankind? It was an attack on the glory as

Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fell short of the glory of God.”

To understand this let us also read, Genesis 2:17,“but you must not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil for when you eat it you will surely die.” God created man in his image and likeness; he was allowed to eat from anything but not from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The serpent came to the woman and said “God knows that when you eat of it you will be like him and he does not want you to be like him.” (Genesis3:5)

That was a lie for they were already like him as I mentioned earlier that Glory means to be ‘like Him.’ So, the first attack on mankind was the attack on glory. We further read that God questioned them as to who told them that they were naked. In other words, God’s question to Adam and Eve was that that how did they fall from glory? (Genesis 3:10, 11) Now, that sounds like a frivolous question! If someone is naked, isn’t it obvious that they would know that they are naked and there would be probably no need for someone to tell them. But God was not asking them about physical nakedness. They were covered and immersed in the glory which was their very foundation. God’s question to Adam and Eve was how did they fell from glory?

Why temple veil torn..?

Do you know that when Jesus Christ died, the veil on the temple was torn in two parts from top to bottom (Mark 15:38)?  The word ‘temple’ in original language is ‘Naos’ – often denotes only the innermost sacred part of the building. So, what did God want to say from the above-mentioned verse? The answer is, in the Old Testament, God’s presence was behind the veil in the innermost sacred part of the temple and in the New Testament, that presence has come out of that place and God speaks to His people by residing in their hearts. In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit who is the third person of the Trinity, would come upon a person only for a specific time and a specific purpose and after that particular purpose was achieved and the time was over the Holy Spirit had to leave. But in the New Testament, due to the veil of the temple being torn, every believer now can be filled with the Holy Spirit.                        ...

Why did Jesus Die?

In reality, we walk and move and have our being in Him. So, we ought to glorify God in our body by living in glory without sickness. Now my question to you is why did Jesus die? Good question! You may have many answers, but I have one according to Hebrews 2:10, “In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the author of their salvation complete the work through suffering.” So, the ultimate purpose of the cross was to bring many sons to glory. In order for God’s purpose to prevail, it was settled even before the creation of the world that Christ will come and die in our place and to bring us back to glory. (NB Hebrews 2:10 is the Apostle’s Version) Therefore, the entire purpose of the cross is to bring us back to glory. If we study scriptures carefully we would read in Genesis that although Adam and Eve were naked and still why they did not feel any shame? It was because they were covered with the glory of ...
