Do you know God's heart?

To get a clear understanding of God’s heart through the Scriptures let us meditate on scripture Exodus 3:14 when God said to Moses, “I AM, WHO I AM.” Then God told him to tell the Israelites that whose name is ‘I AM’ has sent him to them. When we read this verse without the revelation of the Holy Spirit, it gives us an impression that God remains engrossed in His own world (realm), with no concern for mankind and uninterested in their day to day chores. But if we study the Word of God in the light of the Holy Spirit, it portrays altogether a different picture, wherein Jesus Himself commanded us to pray to give us this day our daily bread (Matthew 6:11). In order to provide for our daily needs, God desires that we involve Him in all our day to day activities and He is the center of our every decision. Hence, God wants and longs to be involved in every aspect of our life. As we read the scripture Exodus 3:14, the word ‘I AM’ in Hebrew is ‘Hayah’, which means, ‘to become or becomin...

CORRECT UNDERSTANDING OF OUR GOD

Being and Person Being is a quality that constitutes what you are and a person is a quality that constitutes who you are. For example, who I am? I am Winston and I am one being and one person. I am human being and I am one person. But God is one being who has three persons. There is no other being like God on this earth. From the beginning, in Genesis 1:1 God is shown as one being and three persons. In Genesis 1:1, God (Elohim) created the heavens and the earth. The word ‘Elohim’ is a plural noun. God is a divine being. In Genesis 1:26, God (Elohim) said, “We” (not I but We). Here the point to be noted is that God is saying and a plural noun is used for Him. Though the word ‘Trinity’ does not exist in the Bible, it does not mean that we do not believe in it. In the same way, the very word ‘Bible’ also doesn’t exist in the Bible, hence it does not mean that we will not accept the Bible. Now, if you turn to the book of ‘Esther’ the term ‘God’ does not exist anywhere in that book, yet we ...

I am what I am

‘Jehovah’ is the embodiment i.e. expression of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The name of Jesus is the embodiment of all the names of God in the Old Testament. In the Old Testament, God revealed Himself by different names in different situations as for example in Genesis 1:1, God is called ‘Elohim’, the Creator and under the New Testament in Hebrews 1:10–11, Jesus Christ is called the Creator. If we further read Genesis 17:1, then He is called ‘El-Shaddai’, the Almighty; however in the New Testament when we read Revelation 1:8 then Jesus Christ is that Almighty. When we read Genesis 18:3 God is called ‘my Lord’ i.e. ‘Adonai’, and in the New Testament when we read John 20:13 Jesus Christ is called my Master. If we further read Genesis 22:14, God is called the Provider i.e. ‘Jehovah Jireh’, and in Philippians 4:19 our needs are met in Christ, in other words, Jesus Christ is our Provider in the New Testament. In Exodus 15:26, God is called the Healer i.e. ‘Jehovah Rapha’, while...

Adam and Eve

Adam and Eve’s first sin (Unbelief and Doubt) Let us read, Genesis 3:4-5, “You will not surely die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” And Genesis 1:26, “Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” When we read both the verses carefully, it gets very clear that the first sin committed by Adam and Eve was unbelief and doubt. In reference to the above-given verse, the devil comes and says that God does not want you to eat it because the day you eat it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God.  But in truth, Genesis 1:26 states that both (Adam and Eve) were already like God. So, first sin of humanity was doubt and unbelief in the Word of God.  Many people argue why it is on...

Who is Jehovah?

WHO IS THE ALMIGHTY JEHOVAH SEEN BY ISAIAH?  1 Timothy 6:16 tells us, “who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.” John 1:18 says, “No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father’s side, has made him known.” John 5:37 confirms, “…You have never heard his voice nor seen his form,” According to the above verses no one has ever seen God the Father nor heard His voice and no one can ever see Him in future. Now, keeping this in mind, let us look at Isaiah 6:1 “In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord (Jehovah) seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple.” And _Isaiah 6:5 states, “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty.” Isaiah 6.8 states, “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send...

LOVE

The Triune God is the basis of all our relations as we have said earlier. The Bible says in John 5:20, 22, and 23 as the Father has loved Jesus and placed all things under Him, so love is the basis of all trust. In other words, when we love somebody, we will trust that person. Why so many family relationships are breaking these days? The answer to this is straightforward because they have not received the love of the Triune God in their marriage life and relationships. In other words, because of the love of the Father for His Son, He trusts him and placed all things under Him. This teaches us that for the love of our husband, wife, and church, we should forsake ourselves and keep their will in mind and should go out of the way to do something special for them. The Bible goes on to say that God is love — love is God . In other words, God can never ever be a loner — — there had to be at least two persons in order for that love to be expressed in a greater dimension. God, who is lov...

COMMITMENT

We learn Commitment towards one another from our Triune God. Though believing in Triune God there are some who do not believe in commitment- be it church or family life or any other area of their life. They want blessings and prosperity in their life but they are professional jumpers, i.e., jumping from one church to another and being committed to none, doing whatever pleases them, at the end of it all they want is to get blessings and prosperity. However, the fact remains that it is impossible to receive the blessings and prosperity they aspire to when they are a church hopper! The Bible mentions in Psalm 92:12 “The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon.” It further adds in Psalm 92:13 “planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God.” It is clearly stated above that it is not only important to be righteous but also equally necessary to be planted (connected) in the house of the Lord. Notice the word...

SUBMISSION

Jesus was fully submitted to the will of the Father and in the same manner we can be submitted to those in authorities like - pastor, elders, and leaders as God has placed them over us. A wife can be submitted to godly husband, children can be submitted to godly parents and so on because of the submission of Jesus as we learn from the Triune God. In the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus prayed, “…not my will but yours be done…”, at that moment His sweat rolled like drops of blood. From the above-mentioned verses, only Jesus Christ is the one who can teach what submission is all about. He was submitted even at the point of death at the cross. When every iota of our being is crying out for rebellion against the authority that God has placed over our lives like pastor, leaders, elders, husband, father, teacher then what shall we do? The answer to this is - to look at the cross which is the ultimate point of submission. Do you think it was easy for Jesus to become a man? Do you think it was easy...

Testing of Faith and Inheritance

When you go through trials and testing of your faith, then always remember to be patient and not to give up, because the testing of your faith leads you to your inheritance. So wait patiently, so that you will mount up with wings like eagles and soar into your success. 1 Peter 1:7 tells us that “These have come so that your faith of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire — may be proved genuine Christ is revealed.” Now, my question is why is your faith compared to gold ? I believe there are many reasons for this analogy. I will enlighten a few important reasons as to why faith and gold both have to undergo testing of fire. It is because fire is the only element that proves authenticity of both. Just like real gold comes out of fire, so does true faith comes out of fire of trials. So, when a person with real faith, i.e. firmness of heart, is allowed to go through fire of difficulties then that person would come out a real winner. The Bible says in Jame...
