CORRECT UNDERSTANDING OF OUR GOD

Being and Person

Being is a quality that constitutes what you are and a person is a quality that constitutes who you are.

For example, who I am? I am Winston and I am one being and one person. I am human being and I am one person. But God is one being who has three persons. There is no other being like God on this earth.

From the beginning, in Genesis 1:1 God is shown as one being and three persons. In Genesis 1:1, God (Elohim) created the heavens and the earth. The word ‘Elohim’ is a plural noun. God is a divine being. In Genesis 1:26, God (Elohim) said, “We” (not I but We). Here the point to be noted is that God is saying and a plural noun is used for Him.

Though the word ‘Trinity’ does not exist in the Bible, it does not mean that we do not believe in it. In the same way, the very word ‘Bible’ also doesn’t exist in the Bible, hence it does not mean that we will not accept the Bible. Now, if you turn to the book of ‘Esther’ the term ‘God’ does not exist anywhere in that book, yet we accept the book of Esther as a book from God. The Bible is truly the Word of the Living God. Similarly, the term ‘Trinity’ is coined by the scholars of the Bible to describe the being and the persons of God.

Let us read Matthew 28:19 stating, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations; baptizing them in the name (one being) of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit (three persons)”.

Notice here, Jesus did not use ‘Name’ in a plural form cause He did not say ‘the Names’. The above verse clearly indicates in itself that God is only one being existing in three distinct personas. This does not mean that one person plays three different roles, nor does it mean that three gods clubbed into one.

Why temple veil torn..?

Do you know that when Jesus Christ died, the veil on the temple was torn in two parts from top to bottom (Mark 15:38)?  The word ‘temple’ in original language is ‘Naos’ – often denotes only the innermost sacred part of the building. So, what did God want to say from the above-mentioned verse? The answer is, in the Old Testament, God’s presence was behind the veil in the innermost sacred part of the temple and in the New Testament, that presence has come out of that place and God speaks to His people by residing in their hearts. In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit who is the third person of the Trinity, would come upon a person only for a specific time and a specific purpose and after that particular purpose was achieved and the time was over the Holy Spirit had to leave. But in the New Testament, due to the veil of the temple being torn, every believer now can be filled with the Holy Spirit.                        ...

BLESSING IN GIVING

The most important thing we learn from the living Triune God is everyone who has a relationship with the living God cannot stop himself from giving. The Scripture in John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” So, if we have a relationship with the living Triune God then it would be normal for us to give. 2 Corinthians 9:7 informs us that God loves a cheerful giver. It is mandatory that tithe, offering, and whatever God puts in our heart we must offer to Him cheerfully. For whatever we are and we have received is given to us by God. God has taught me this principle in the beginning of the ministry and it is no wonder that God blessed me and made me a blessing for others. I can tell you with my own experience along with the authority of the Word of God and with assurance I can say that those who sow cheerfully would never lack. Luke 6:38 clearly mentions: “Give, and it will be...
