How do we know that the Spirit is a person?

Jesus Christ Himself addresses Holy Spirit as a person and not as a material. When He, the Spirit of   Truth has come, He will guide you in all truth as revealed in John 16:13. Just as you have a unique personality, so does the Holy Spirit. In fact, there are characteristics ascribed to Him that only a person (i.e., being with intellect, emotion and will) can possess. Not only does He have the ability to think, communicate and express His love; He is also easily grieved by our careless words and actions. Here are some specific traits by which we would clearly know that the Holy Spirit is a person. They are as follows: HOLY SPIRIT HAS A MIND Can the Holy Spirit think? Can He remember? According to the Word of God, He has all the abilities like that of any human being. He has a mind, He has the ability to explore, examine and search. This is what the Spirit of the Lord can do. For example, we cannot understand the things that God has prepared for our future; for “…The Spirit s...
Romans 10:9 “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” The word ‘saved’ in Greek is ‘Sozo’ which means salvation and its other meanings are:  (a) forgiveness of sin,  (b) healing or health,  © peace,  (d) prosperity,  (e) eternal life and  (f) blessing.  So, the one word ‘Sozo’ not only means forgiveness of sins but it also includes healing, health, peace, prosperity, eternal life, and blessings. But when one talks of Salvation only as forgiveness of sins, then it is too shallow because it is just like a father who has a hundred crores in his bank account, and although the son is entitled for the entire amount but spends only a few lakhs for the rest of his life and struggles for list of the things. Here, it is not the father’s fault, rather it’s the ignorance on the part of the son to not fully utilize what the father has in store for him. Exactly in the...

Why temple veil torn..?

Do you know that when Jesus Christ died, the veil on the temple was torn in two parts from top to bottom (Mark 15:38)?  The word ‘temple’ in original language is ‘Naos’ – often denotes only the innermost sacred part of the building. So, what did God want to say from the above-mentioned verse? The answer is, in the Old Testament, God’s presence was behind the veil in the innermost sacred part of the temple and in the New Testament, that presence has come out of that place and God speaks to His people by residing in their hearts. In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit who is the third person of the Trinity, would come upon a person only for a specific time and a specific purpose and after that particular purpose was achieved and the time was over the Holy Spirit had to leave. But in the New Testament, due to the veil of the temple being torn, every believer now can be filled with the Holy Spirit.                        ...

SIN OR HOLINESS

Now, the million-dollar question is, having said that the law is terminated or nullified and we are made holy and immersed in holiness and righteousness of Christ, then are we free to commit any sin we feel like? No! Not at all!! The Bible says in  Romans 6:1–2, “What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?” According to Roman s  6:2 by no means! As we have died to sin, how can we live in it any longer? Romans 6:3 says, “Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?” What does that mean? Christ died taking our sins, but now we don’t have to die taking our sins rather we have to die to sin. It means when the opportunity arises to sin, we cannot act to sin because we are dead to sin. When the opportunity arises for adultery or cheats or telling lies, we cannot do so, because we are dead to adultery or to cheat or to...

Life in Christ Jesus

All my life I have been taught about the death of Christ but nobody has taught me about His life till now. The Bible says but He (Christ) who lives life, He lives to God. Just imagine Christ living a life unto God the Father; but why? Is He not the second person of the Triune God? Yes- But why is He living before the Father? So that we must understand clearly that He is living our life before the Father; the Father sees us through, Christ. We are absolutely holy, perfect, and righteous according to Hebrews 10:10,14. The Bible says in 1 John 4:17 as He is so are we in this world. So, we are exactly like Him on this earth. Does Christ have sickness in His body right now? No! So we are called to live exactly like Him, therefore we can declare that no sickness can even touch us all the days of our life. You must declare “I am sickness proof!” Many people lose their healing because they are focusing on symptoms rather than on Christ. If you want to lead your life without sickness, the...

The Law or the Cross (Grace)

Even after the finished work of Christ some people still rely on law — ‘to take them through, which is absolutely dangerous. So, you may then ask why was the law given at all? According to Galatians 3:24 ,   the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ. In other words, there is a hidden message inside the law that ‘you’ cannot keep it and the only one who can keep it is ‘Jesus Christ’ through whose obedience we are made righteous and holy, as Romans 10:4 tells us that Christ is the end of the law. He came to fulfil the law as Galatians 2:16 says because by observing the law no one will be justified and Galatians 3:10 further adds that all who rely on observing the law are under a curse for it is written: Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the book of the law.   Galatians 3:11 mentions “Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, …”   We must always remember that law is a taskmaster –the devil was ruling humanity through th...

What is Holiness?

The root word for ‘holiness’ comes from the Greek word ‘Hagios’, which has three meanings: a) Separated from the ordinary b) Separated from the common usage c) Something holy is that which has been brought into relationship with God and designated by Him as having a sacred purpose. We must be clear that simply by living a holy life we do not become holy. If it would have been possible then the death of Christ would have been useless. Our holiness is in Christ, which is the wisdom of God i.e., Christ has become holiness, righteousness, and redemption for us as scripted in 1 Corinthians 1:30. We must keep our eyes on Christ forever. The devil wants us to focus on ourselves and to view ourselves as to how unrighteous and unholy we are, but God’s plan for us is to continually look at and keep our focus on Christ. The Bible says in Hebrews 3:1, “Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we c...

The success, of the Covenant

We need to understand that Adam’s blessing was in being obedient to God’s command of not eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Adam’s life was hidden in the tree of life, but our blessing is not hidden in the tree of life. Our blessing is hidden in Christ and walking in the fullness of Christ.   Here we must know that the Old Covenant failed because it was a covenant between God and man. In other words, both the parties had to work and be faithful to the covenant. For the success of the covenant, God had to play the part and He kept His covenant and was faithful to it. But the problem was with men, who could not work out their holiness and consequently failed to keep the covenant. However, under the  New Covenant , it is possible to keep and maintain holiness, because, now God the Father did not make the covenant with a man but with His Own Son, who represented mankind. So, this covenant became successful because in this covenant both the parts were played by God...
